Selected elements of the Statute of the PLURIKO Foundation
Objectives of the Foundation – conducting activities related to:
- Conducting and supporting research in the field of plurilingualism and interethnic and intercultural communication.
- Promoting and popularizing plurilingualism as well as interethnic and intercultural communication as cultural, social and intellectual capital of European individuals and societies.
- Initiating and supporting research and teaching of Esperanto as propaedeutics in the process of learning foreign languages.
Forms of the Foundation’s activity:
- Research activity – through projects and works undertaken in cooperation with scientific institutions and on our own, as well as organizing scientific and popularizing projects.
- Educational activities – by organizing language courses, training specialists in the subject of the Foundation’s activities and participation in educational projects of schools, universities and other institutions (in particular with disabilities), teaching rare languages and promoting intercultural and interethnic communication.
- Publishing activity – through the publication of scientific studies, teaching and popularization materials.
- Library activity – by collecting, maintaining and sharing library collections on its own and in cooperation with other institutions.
- Other activities supporting the goals of the Foundation.
The scope of the Foundation’s activities – thematic areas, including:
- Plurilingualism and interethnic and intercultural communication as promoted directions of activities of European institutions.
- Cultural capital of European individuals and societies resulting from the knowledge of many foreign languages.
- European integration in the field of interethnic contacts and learning foreign languages, in particular rare languages.
- The impact of learning a relatively easy foreign language, such as Esperanto, on the processes of brain functioning and on the intellectual level of learners depending on the target group, including:
- people with intellectual disabilities – as a form of language therapy of the mind
- people at retirement age – as a linguistic health diet.
- Interlinguistic research, including Esperanto, which originated in Warsaw and is its cultural heritage.
- Organization of library collections in the field of interlinguistics, plurilingualism and intercultural communication.
